Jogging

Having very limited talents in highly technical sports like cross country skiing, hockey or soccer because I was absent at the talents distribution by Mother Nature , I satisfy myself by running , occasionaly with deers , foxes and raccoons in the Longueuil regional park 4 or 5 times a week to keep the shape. I tried also bicyle racing in the veteran class but I was stiffer than a steel bar on my bike.My performance were at light years of beeing olympian. I ran twice the Montreal marathon and my personnal best is 2 hrs 59 min in 1981. I'm convinced that I would have got a much better time for the following reasons :

    1. If Iliked to run.
    2. I lost 55sec to reach the starting line when race started. I was drowned into a 12,000 runners field.

I recently made a temporary comeback to jogging after a 12 years hiatus when I learned during 2009 summer that I have been selected to be an olympic torch bearer in my hometown on dec. 8th. Please click here to read my history. You will appreciate it.

As expected, I gave up running at my 50 th birthday on august 4th at 20:38:48 EST to practice hiking. I begun that activity in december 1996 when I did trekking in the Aconcagua provincial park in Argentina while visiting my 2 families in law in Mendoza.

    Bibliographic researches:

Strictly volontary I like to surf on the Net to do bibliographic researches to write questions for radiophonic quizzes or "terribles" seasonal astro quizzes at my astronomy club. Just to give you an idea of the toughness of my questions , try to answer the following one :
What was the name of the 2 spiders carried on Skylab ?
The answer is at the end of the page.

My favorite readings (Not astronomical ones) :

Travel and geography: I'm a very good customer of Library Ulysse:-) and I own about 500 geographical maps from almost everywhere in the world. As you doubt, I'm also subscribed to National Geographic magazine.

Sport biographies: I enjoyed very much on Mohammad Ali. the Greatest and Jim Thorpe by Paul Ohl a local author.

Political fiction: I strongly recommend "The 5 th Horseman" by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins

    PC Adventures games

I enjoy very much that type of games where my cerebral microprocessors are tested to their limits.

Return to Zork is a game I enjoyed so much who took me 3 weeks at 4 hours every night to solve it. I can afford it because I have the great advantage to be single ;-) However Zork Nemesis has disapointed me a little bit despite its wonderful graphical interface.

I laughted quite a bit with Under a Killing Moon with the sympatetic Tex Murphy with his funny and special accent.

MYST is the game I enjoyed the most and I finished the sequels RIVENŠ and I began to play MYST3 Exile with its clever puzzles.

A new sequel, URU will be released very soon, it promises plenty hours of pleasure alone or online with other gamers on the Net

Some interesting links I recommend you.
